Doing the right thing right

The title above gives the notion of a misspelled sentence however if you read carefully, the sentence reflects an everyday life of businesses that project the right thinking of setting up a process in the most convenient way possible to make an end product. Often this is not done with the next process in mind. Given a perfect scenario, there shouldn't be any turn back in the process however this is far a common sight in businesses today. Time is consumed to argue over what is right but solutions is never implemented.

I have audited countless number of Organisations where setup is just to get the job done. In between layers of review, the hard truth of telling the people that there is a misguided training where an operator missed the process step. The reason of why this is happening goes a long way back into the basic. Setup when carefully planned can be implemented smoothly if the implementation is reviewed all over to ensure Operators are doing it right before taking a slack.

In the aerospace arena, putting a process in the right perspective gives the product its final resting place in the right area and operating efficiently. We must always never to rest on our laurels and continually review the processes to make improvement for the better. Therefore doing the right thing is not enough but also to do thing right.
